Possible Titles: A philosophical bug? Open words closed meanings?
Concept:
I want to take important speeches and writings and deconstruct them visually down to the point that they are represented by a single visual or visible word or short phrase within the visual plane. Also trying to figure out what was the first thought that spurred an idea or paper.
Texts or speeches for possible use
“I have a dream” MLK
A rally speech from the Unfortunate White Supremacist Dream in the White House
Nixon talking about the war on drugs
The constitution
“The american action painters” by rosenberg
Questions
What visual aspects of the texts should I focus on? What language aspects?
How large does this have to be?
Where does deconstruction begin?
How do I dissect the text? How do I dissect my own interaction with the text?
How do I reform and re-form the text?
Where does the original context mean now?
Who is the audience? Or is this for my own fascination?
Minimalism or maximalism?
How do I speak?
How do I read the past?
And what is the last thing that I will remember from it?
